Dugout Sports ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at dugoutsports.io and the Dugout Sports mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• Account type (fan or player)
• Google profile information (if you sign in with Google), including your name and profile picture

When you use the platform, we automatically collect:

• Teams and players you follow
• Pages you visit and features you use (via Vercel Analytics)
• Device type, browser, and general location (country/region)

For player verification, we additionally collect your school email address (.edu) and jersey number to verify your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and maintain your account
• Personalize your experience (followed teams, watchlists)
• Send email communications you opt into (game day digests, weekly recaps)
• Verify player identities through .edu email verification
• Improve our platform through aggregated, anonymized analytics
• Respond to your feedback and support requests

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Dugout Sports:

• Supabase — Authentication and database hosting
• Google — OAuth sign-in (Google Accounts)
• Vercel — Website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics
• Resend — Transactional email delivery

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with the third-party service providers listed above, and only as necessary to operate the platform. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing feedback@dugoutsports.io. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use:

• Session cookies for authentication (managed by Supabase)
• Local storage for theme preference and offline functionality
• Vercel Analytics which uses privacy-friendly, cookieless tracking

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

7. Children's Privacy

Dugout Sports is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through Supabase, and access controls on our database. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
